Final registrations are now being accepted for the 5th Annual African American Briefing for Financial Professionals March 22-25, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

This innovative program will include White House briefing from senior leaders, Capitol Hill Briefing with Lawmakers from the Congressional Black Caucus and the Banking and Financial Services Committee, Federal Reserve Briefing, Governmental Leaders Briefing and Round Table Discussion, U.S. Capitol Tour. Discussions will include Big Data and Financial Services, The Power of the African American Consumer, Preparing for the Silver Tsunami, New Views on Community Reinvestment, Cyber Security Challenges and more.

2014 UFSC Western Region Oratorical Winner

2014 Intl UFSC Western Region and Puget Sound Chapter Oratorical Winner is King Cyprus Richardson.  Cyprus is freshman at South Seattle Community College and is majoring in Business Management. Mr. Richardson was the Masters of Ceremony at the 2013 local chapter event. It was at this event, that Cyprus was motivated to speak once becoming a college student. The topic, “Housing Market Crash: Solutions, Programs and Initiatives to Stimulate the United States Housing Market and Decrease Foreclosures. Congratulations to Cyprus for being able to thoughtfully prepare a comprehensive speech on the relevant subject matter and capturing 2nd place at the national competition.  The Mark I Emerging Leaders program held in Chicago, IL from June 1-8 was fully funded by US Bank. Cyprus and his team mate Kamille Jones won 2nd place in the Youth Business Plan competition. Thank you US Bank for making this opportunity possible. Watch out world of business and aviation management, here comes King Cyprus Richardson.

Frank Robinson is the public affairs manager for Union Bank, N.A.  He is in charge of developing the bank’s multicultural strategy.  His responsibilities include the management of diverse banking segments and implementation of internal and external strategies, tactics, marketing campaigns, programs, and products to increase market share in designated diverse segments.

Previously, Mr. Robinson served as a vice president and segment manager of Business Diversity Lending for Union Bank, where he oversaw the bank’s Special Purpose Credit Program.  Business Diversity Lending offers a more flexible underwriting guidelines for women-, minority-, and disabled veteran-owned businesses throughout California, Washington, and Oregon.

In 1998, Mr. Robinson joined Union Bank as a financial services officer and was promoted within two years to assistant vice president and branch manager of the Brawley/El Centro branch.  He also served as vice president and branch manager of the La Mesa office.  While in both offices, Mr. Robinson was voted Branch Manager of the Year and his offices were voted Branch of the Year.   The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from California State University, San Bernardino.  He is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School.  He also serves as the diversity consultant for Pacific Coast Banking School.

Mr. Robinson is an active member of the community and volunteers his time serving as vice chairman of the board of directors for Volunteers of America.  He is also a past president of the San Diego Chapter of the Urban Financial Services Coalition and the Western Province Board Member and Kappa 100 member for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

Devin Anderson

“2013 UFSC-Puget Sound Chapter and Western Regional Winner,” Devin Anderson joined the public speaking community in September of 2009 as a senior in high school. As the youngest member of the Waikiki Toastmasters club, he had the opportunity to give numerous speeches and observe distinguished Toastmasters fine tune their skills. He has been a master of ceremonies at a dinner hosting a thousand guests and has led the Seattle University Toastmasters Club as President for the 2012-2013 school year. Devin is a Seattle University undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science and also works in the schools IT Data Center. He aspires to be a network engineer and/or possibly an IT manager.
