Tonnette Bufford is a documentation specialist in the Interest Rate Risk Management Division of the Capital Markets Group at KeyBank. Her primary responsibility is to coordinate all aspects of ISDA® documentation for KeyBank National Association’s derivatives trading business. This involves reviewing loan documents and client proposed swap documentation, preparing and negotiating swap documents, and resolving any documentation issues among the Line of Business, Credit, Operations, Trading Personnel and Legal. She is also a point of contact for client information requests.
Prior to joining the Interest Rate Risk Management Group, Tonnette worked as a Portfolio Manager in Key Private Bank where she managed investments for trusts, individual clients, and companies. She also worked as a Performance Measurement Analyst with Victory Capital Management where she calculated performance for investment management accounts and performed administrative tasks associated with equity research analyst industry portfolios. She joined Key in 1998.
Tonnette received an MBA with an emphasis in finance from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Youngstown State University. She has attended continuing education conferences provided by the International Swap and Derivatives Association, Inc., a premier financial trade association representing participants in the privately negotiated derivatives industry. Also, Tonnette is a 2010 graduate of the United Way of King County’s Project LEAD program, a program designed to develop leaders for service within the nonprofit community.
Tonnette’s exceptional leadership traits and qualities were recognized in 2010 by the UFSC-PS Chapter and the Pacific Coast Banking School (PCBS) when she was awarded the inaugural Rise Above the Rest Scholarship, a new professional scholarship program co-developed by the UFSC and PCBS. PCBS is a three-year intensive, comprehensive, and competitive program of which Tonnette is a 2012 honors graduate. This year, she will be attending the PCBS session as an Executive Student Advisor assisting first year students.
